What Inspires You + $100 Gift Card Giveaway!

April 12, 2015 54 Comments Holly & Nat

Last week, we shared a little bit about what inspires us as we take on our most important role every day… being moms. If you missed the video, make sure to watch and see how Nat gets inspired to create for the people she loves most!

We all know how busy our days can get. It’s hard to make time for the things that give us a creative outlet, when the hours in the day seem to be filled with carpools, play groups, sports, homework, bathtime, etc. By the time all of my kids are finally asleep at the end of the day, I’m usually too tired to start working on a new project. That is what I have loved most about using the new iPad app for my Cricut Explore Air.

iPad app Explore Air Using my iPad to create, rather than my desktop, gives me the flexibility to work on a project for a few minutes here and there throughout the day. I am constantly on the go, even when I’m at home! So it’s nice to be able to sit down and take a minute or two to work on a design, even if my 4-year-old is on my lap helping me. The Cricut Design Space app for iPad allows me to access all of my saved designs and images, and since it’s cloud-based, my projects are synced across all devices. It really is the perfect fit for my life as a busy mom of four!

That’s what “Cricut Everywhere” means to me. Now it’s possible for me to make a last-minute birthday card for my neighbor, or poster for preschool, and still have the ability to be with my kids while I’m doing it.

Cricut Everywhere What does #CricutEverywhere mean to you? What inspires you to create? We would love to hear your stories! So we are having a little contest, sponsored by Cricut and Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card + the chance to share your story or favorite project on Cricut’s social media channels!

TO ENTER:

  • Leave a comment below with your email address and share what #CricutEverywhere means to you.
  • You can share a favorite project you’ve made with your Cricut, or a dream project you would love to create and why? Or tell us how the Cricut Explore Air would make your life easier.
  • Inspire us! Make us laugh!
  • We’ll choose the winner in one week, on Monday, April 20th.

We can’t wait to hear from you! Good luck!

I don’t have a Cricut, but I know that if I did (and someday I hope to have one!), I know I’d be using it every chance I had to create projects for my home and family. One thing I’d love to do with it is create special notes and cards for my kids to encourage them in their life and the struggles along the way. Everyone needs support and know that someone is looking out for them. Cricut Explore Air would be my help along the way!

I love my cricut, and I use it to make cards for those I love. Snail mail is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world to just have a note to know someone is thinking about you and took more than a minute to let you know just means so much. Making fun cards helps with my creativity time and sending them out helps me stay even more in touch with friends and family around the world.

As a long time crafter, artist, photographer, handy girl, party planner, rehab addict, and designer, I can only imagine how much fun I’d have with a Cricut of my own. I’ve had other people create my designs on these but I’ve never ponied up and bought one myself. Truth be told, I’m a little intimidated by the sheer number of amazing things you can do with it. To me, that’s what Cricuteverywhere means. It can be used by any type of crafter or artist in every which way in just about any aspect of your life! How great is that?

#CricutEverywhere means having the ability to express your creativity, your inspiration, your soul at any time of day (or sleepless nights). I have a very stressful job, full of rules and protocols, #cricuteverywhere means the opposite. There are no rules to your imagination, there are no borders (well sometimes borders might be required in a project), but we can choose to take risk! I don’t own a Cricut but have used my friends and oh boy! What I would do with one! The first thing I would do would be print out (cut out) every quirky thing my grandmother would say growing up. That lady had a saying for everything! and seeing her quotes throughout my house (on pillows, on frames, on lampshades, in the bathroom wall) I would honor her soul at the same time as releasing mine….

They look so amazing and I think a great reminder to have around the house, one which reminds you of unity, love and strength. I would also go on to make lots of fun things for myself, our home and our family, the possibilities are endless! Would be so amazing, thank you for the opportunity to win 🙂 x

It is crazy funny that it is “sister’s Suitcase” doing the contest today. I’m in Texas and my sister is in Minnesota and I love her dearly. I have a Cricut Explore and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. I got it on Black Friday and she was with me with one in hand, but just couldn’t pull the trigger as she and her husband just started a new business and money is tight. I cut paper and fabric for her and mail it to her for quilting projects. It would be awesome if she could win a Cricut Air and the Joann’s gift card to work on her projects…. since it is STILL snowing there…. !!!! #Cricuteverywhere and in between!

#CricutEverywhere means that I can start a project without the worry of being bound to one location. It also keeps me from hogging the computer, so if my husband needs to use it, then I can simply move to my laptop or iPad. This gives me the ability to keep the creative juices flowing no matter where I am. I love my Cricut Explore and use it every chance I get to create things for friends and family members that have that “personal touch.” With Cricut, you can be sure that whomever is on the receiving end of your creation, will feel the love of the added touch of “homemade” or “handmade.”

what #cricuteverywhere means to me .. I like to create in multiple places. On the front porch in the evening, out on the deck, in bed before I fall asleep, or upon awakening, I also create while I am a passenger in the car, waiting at the doctor’s office, my mind is always thinking of the next great things to make with my cricut, yes I have a million things I need to make! One thing I really would like to do with the explore, when I get one. I have my grandmothers will, and I would like to recreate it in her handwriting for my brothers and sisters. It reads “and for my grandchildren I Love You” its the most precious thing I have from her besides all the great memories and pictures. I would love to put that in a frame for them or on a christmas ornament, done in vinyl in her handwriting.

#cricuteverwhere means that any moment that I’m hit with inspiration I can start a project. The cricut air explore would be great to have right now since I’m planning a wedding and constantly thinking of creative ways to decorate for the event. Sometimes when things in my life get too busy, I like to hide out in the laundry room and could totally imagine bringing my iPad with me to work on a project. To me, that’s what it would mean to #cricuteverwhere!

I had an iPad, but app was not released until February. Yay, app rolling…catching up with all the amazing projects and now, all these amazing projects can be done anywhere….anywhere. #CricutEverywhere to me means, Freedom to finally be able to create even during my busy days rescuing animals. I trapped homeless, strays, Feral animals to spay then socialize for adoption.

These animals are afraid of humans so they only come out late at night when the world has gone to sleep. Because of this I spend from 11pm to 5 am in my car. I set the Live Humane Traps and sit 100ft away just waiting for these animals to go in trap for the bait.

If I had the Explore Air I could create in the dark in my car while trapping. I have not been able to craft much over past 2 yrs cause rescue has picked up. Oh how I long to get to do not favorite past time again. So Create on the Go #CricutEverywhere is exactly what it says Cricut Air and DS are. Freedom to do it on my time, my terms and most of all, Just be able too!

My inspiration is animals my passion and nature. I could use my love to create anywhere, anytime to make things to sell, to make money to help pay for my rescue efforts. Humane Society of Charlotte help me with discount spays due to volume of rescues I bring in. It still cost and adds up fast and I pay out of my
Pocket to rescue and vet these animals. I need this machine.

I want to do my second most loved thing (create) DS and #CricutEverywhere means saving animal lived by selling the things I would make and it means Love cause creating is my second love.

Saving lives and Love is what is means to me.

I would create my first project of a whole year set of greeting cards to sell.

I would love to make something out of a material I’ve never worked with before such as leather, or maybe felt. Right now though I make stickers all the time. My four year old daughter loves stickers, and she’s crazy over frozen, once she found frozen on the app she picks them out , and I save it and print and cut from the computer. So every day it’s stickers please, I find them everywhere around the house and she covers herself with them, lol. So I’m a personal sticker maker for now I guess, lol.

I just started my own paper flower business, and while I haven’t yet been able to afford a Cricut Explore Air (or any Cricut machine), I know it would save me so much valuable time that would be better spent designing and perfecting my art and products instead of cutting hundreds of petals and leaves by hand. Plus, maybe I’ll get some of the feeling back in my fingers lost due to hours and hours of quality time spent with my many sets of scissors ;). By day, I’m a freelance PR and marketing consultant, and work out of my home, so I’m always on the go. This means I don’t usually have time to sit at my desk and finish a project. Projects that could take me an hour end up taking me more than a day. “Cricut Everywhere” would mean being able to access and work on my designs while I’m waiting at a coffee shop before meeting a client. It would mean getting my creative thoughts and ideas down whenever they spontaneously come to me (which is all the time) before I lose them to the other dozens of tasks at hand. Lastly, my fiancé would greatly appreciate the Cricut Explore Air, because it would greatly reduce the tiny paper slivers and trimmings that currently cover our house! Thanks so much for this opportunity!

I love seeing beauty in all angles and I transform the things that I see to something that can also help motivate people. I make framed motivational quotes with paper and my travel photos and with #CricutEverywhere, I can simply create one it just a matter of minutes.
