We {heart} Paint Chips!

January 27, 2012 32 Comments Holly & Nat

Have you ever used paint chips for anything other than choosing a color to paint your walls? If not, you must try it! This was an easy project I did this morning while my baby was napping 🙂 Now that my mantel is finished, I decided to give my framed chalkboard a quick Valentine’s update…. Here are a few other views of my uplcycled “canvas to chalkboard” project:

 And now, here it is for Valentine’s Day:
Pin It

I have this heart punch that has been collecting dust in my craft room, and I thought it would be really cute to put a twist on the ever-popular triangle pennant… and make a heart pennant. I wanted to use several shades of pink, to go along with my ombre yarn letters.
I went to Home Depot and grabbed a variety of pink paint samples. I used my heart punch to punch them all out, then I took some white twine and hot glued them on the twine. I hung the pennant up using regular old Scotch tape! Such an easy project, and it was basically free {since I had all the supplies on hand + free paint chips!}

I updated my winter coffee filter wreath with some simple fabric & lace flowers, and that’s it! I love seeing this new vignette every time I walk into my dining room 🙂

Check out these other fabulous projects using paint chips:

and my FAVORITE… use them to create an entire wall treatment! Isn’t this gorgeous??

I hope this gives you guys some inspiration to go raid your local paint store today!

    I love the paint chips as a wall treatment. My children have a hideaway nook under our stairs that is kinda drab. I may try this on at least one wall. I think they would love it.

    I’m a new member and have enjoyed reading some of your older posts. Thanks.
