Our Summer Bucket List

Summer Bucket List with Wet Wipes

We’re a few weeks into our summer vacation and so far, we’ve been busy checking items off our “Summer Bucket List.” With five kids at home all day, I like to get out of the house and do something fun together at least a few times a week. On the last day of school I had the kids help me brainstorm ideas, and we came up with a list of fun activities and outings we would like to do this summer:

Summer Bucket List

Our list includes camping in the backyard, swimming in a lake, having a silly string fight, hosting a donut party, roasting s’mores in our fire pit, going to Seven Peaks water park, having a glow stick swim night, and taking frequent trips to our favorite local museum. You’ll notice that several items on the list… camping, the lake, s’mores, and donuts…. can tend to be a bit messy. I guess that is the best part about summer. We can make messes and it’s okay! We’re outside for most of our activities anyway, but the “OCD mom” in me still wants things to be as clean as possible, (especially my kids’ hands!)

I’ve had at least one child in diapers for the past 12 years, so I usually have a package of diaper wipes with me at all times. The problem with regular wipes is that they are made for soothing and cleaning little bums, but they don’t necessarily kill germs. That’s why I’ve started keeping Wet Ones® Hand Wipes in our home and car so we have access to them whenever we need a quick hand cleaning, or to take care of other daily messes.

We also bring our Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes to the park because they kill 99.99% of bacteria (definitely a plus after climbing all over that playground equipment) and they are gentle enough to clean even the messiest hands after our picnic lunch.

Another secret I will share with you that has been a game changer for me are these individual Wet Ones® Hand Wipes antibacterial pocket-sized singles. Every mom needs these in her life! I can throw a few in my diaper bag, keep some in the glove compartment in my car, or even stick them in my pocket if I need to. I love how affordable they are, and they’re super easy to keep stocked because I buy them at Walmart when I’m getting my groceries.

Yesterday we decided to check out a small lake that is a few towns over, and my kids were soooo excited for our first “beach” adventure of the summer. They played in the water and sand for two hours (even though the water was freezing by my standards!) I hung out on shore and played lifeguard and snack bar attendant!

We still have quite a few items left on our bucket list but we can’t wait to tackle the rest of them! What are your plans for the summer?
