Give the gift of relaxation with a custom sleep mask – an easy personalized Christmas gift idea!
This post contains affiliate links. Thanksgiving is over, our tree is up, and I’m ready to start making gifts! I love giving and receiving homemade gifts because they are so meaningful. They’re also a great way to make someone laugh, treasure a memory, or use an inside joke. Make one of these custom sleep masks for all your nap-loving friends! (I’m a pro at napping – one of my greatest talents.)
Supplies:
- White Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Sleep Masks (these were 1.99 at Michaels – the material is similar to flannel)
- Cutting Machine
If you’ve never tried heat transfer (iron-on) vinyl, it’s actually pretty easy and it’s so fun to make custom items, especially for gifts! Just make sure to “mirror” or reverse your design before cutting and set your material to the right setting. On a Cricut, go to “Custom” and you can choose from tons of different materials!
Remove the vinyl that isn’t part of the design. Don’t forget the insides of letters!
I like to put a cotton dishtowel over the vinyl backing when ironing, but you can put the iron right on the plastic as well. Follow the directions specific to your type of vinyl.
Now you’re ready to give the mask as is (perfect for an inexpensive but fun gift) or add to a basket with other relaxing things like a yummy scented candle and comfy socks!
To cut this design, save the image below and open it in your cutting machine’s design program.
Don’t forget the kids and teenagers in your life…they’re the ones we’re having to drag out of bed every morning, right?
