Do you ever find something you think is so cool, you just can’t wait to tell everyone you know about it? Well, here goes. A few weeks ago I found these super awesome scratch off stickers. I’ve seen tons of DIY recipes to paint your own scratch-off valentines, etc. but they all looked so messy and time consuming. This is my easy mess-free solution!
The stickers got my wheels spinning and I came up with this idea of doing an advent calendar that is focused on LOVE. Love for our family members, friends, relatives and people in the community. Each day let one kid or member of the family scratch off a heart and challenge each other to do what it says!
Here’s what you need:
- Advent Calendar Printables (see below for more details)
- Gold Heart Scratch-Off Stickers
- bakers twine or string
- small metal clips or mini clothespins
The printable set has 3 pages with ideas already included (so enough for 12 days) and one page of 4 blank banners. We will be starting Feb 1st and go through the 14th, but you could do one week or all month! If you’d like to create your own messages (hello, love notes!) just print as many copies of the blank tags as you need. I can’t wait to do the Dollar Store idea with my kids!
Once you have your tags printed/written on, all you have to do is peel off a sticker and put it over the words! Then use a penny to scratch off the heart to reveal what’s underneath. (This is why I used clips/clothespins so that you could remove the card to scratch over a hard surface.) Seriously, these stickers are too much fun! They come in a pack of 100, so I know I’ll be making some more little rewards/cards for my hubby and kids. The possibilities are endless!
String them up on the wall, a mantel or shelf with the twine and clips! I love that it’s decor and a family activity.
Here’s a sneak peek of the Valentine’s Mantel (aka my faux-mantel-shelf) that I’ll be sharing on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend!
