Printable Thanksgiving Game : Don’t Eat Tom!

November 3, 2014 4 Comments Holly & Nat

Well, we made it to November (that sure went fast!) and that means Thanksgiving is just around the corner! I love having a few activities on hand for the kids to do while they’re (not so) patiently waiting for all that yummy food to be ready. This game is a twist on the preschool favorite “Don’t Eat Pete.” Kids can play it easily and they think it’s so much fun even though it’s so simple!

You can play with small candies, cereal pieces, raisins, etc. Here are the directions for play:

“Don’t Eat Tom!” for 2 or more players
1. Place one piece of candy or whatever marker you choose in each square.
2. Have one child out of the group leave the room.
3. The other children decide which square will be “Tom” for that game. It can be any one, but only one.
4. The child comes back in the room and takes one candy at a time, until he reaches for the one designated as “Tom”….
5. The rest of the children say, “DON’T EAT TOM!”
6. Play starts over with another person leaving the room, the grid is all filled, and another “Tom” is chosen,
7. I’ve heard some play with the rule that if you pick “Tom” very first, you get all the candies! Fun!
