Hey, you. Got a million things on your to-do list today? I know.
Did you have to start the washer again because you forgot to move the clothes to the dryer last night? Me too.
Kids made a huge mess in the room you JUST finished cleaning and you forgot a friend’s birthday and you ate fast food for dinner because you have no groceries and you kinda want to pull your hair out?
I HEAR YA.
Holly and I have often talked about how we can possibly keep our sanity and raise children and husbands while still finding time to keep up the blog. And even though we could always be better and more organized, we always come up with the same conclusion.
We NEED this.
We need time to create, plan, dream, get dirty and use our hands to make something beautiful! It gives us a creative outlet that’s not just crayons and playdough! (Although I really like those, too.) It is energizing and relaxing at the same time. It’s something that is very important to both of us. But we’re busy. Just like you. Here’s something that is making creating a whole lot faster and easier.
Check out a little glimpse of how I stay inspired even as a busy mom.
Have you noticed we’ve been a little Cricut-crazed over the past few weeks? I can honestly say I’ve used my Cricut Explore Air almost every day the past few weeks – whether it’s 4-leaf clovers for our leprechaun trap, Brown E’s for April Fools, a birthday gift for Mom, or a fun custom bag for our little Sis to take backstage at her highschool play. It’s just SO fast and easy to create with. I’m able to put my ideas into action without miraculously finding an hour of free time to do it!
Here are some other ideas we’ve shared, in case you missed ’em.

Next week we’ll be sharing some more projects and tips for using the Cricut Explore, so stay tuned!
***Um, yeah. Isn’t my videographer husband the coolest for making this video for us? He’s the best!
I think we might be seeing more of his work around the old blog in the future!***
I love the Explore! It is setup and ready to go on my craft table and my most favorite projects are fun favors for birthdays, holidays and celebrations… but I totally LOVE to make flowers best of all! thanks for your great inspiration!
Omgosh, what a great and perfect post! What you guys said about NEEDING this is so true! I honestly struggle with taking time away from organizing yet another pile of stuff (or starting the washer again, lol, ’cause that so happens!!), or organizing something else to feed my creative need. So for my birthday, I spent the day posting new projects every hour from 11 – 7, creating and blogging the day away. It was so.much.FUN! Anyway, thanks again for this great post supporting crafty moms 🙂
Yes I hear you. My kids are grown and left the nest but did I slow down No!
I now rescue homeless abandoned stray animals. From Feb to August, we call it kitten season cause this is the highest rate of births during these months. This is a rescue trappers busiest time of year. I have 17 adult cats in a trap in my unfinished basement awaiting spay surgeries tomorrow.
I also trapped 1 cat with asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia that had to be rushed to vet. 7 pills a day for 15 days, then 5 meds will stop but remainder will be given as one pill for another 7 days of 3 meds.
On top of cat being sick it will not eat so I have to syringe fed every hour. It can not handle to much at once or it throws up. I even learned how to give iv’s by my vet a few years ago. I am giving Iv’s to this kitty every other day. We are on day 5.
This means I am up doing feedings all through the night. I still have surgery appointments for the 17 tomorrow.
I so need quick crafts. I hardly get to be creative. I trap mainly at night cause cats are more active. Or at lease the scared or feral cats are. I was already losing sleep just trapping. Now to have a sick cat who will die if I do not syringe feed and 17 for surgery, then caring for them to recovery. Help!
But you know what? My friend says why do it? She says I will not be able to help them all. Maybe Not, but for the ones I do help, I save kittens from being born outdoors which only 25% live to see adulthood cause they get kill by man, cars, predators or illness. So to those cats I save, It means the world too. When I get photos from their new pet parents showing them sitting in a sunny window, it warms my heart and gives me the strength to go out the next night and trap again.
I so need a quick machine and project so I can have both passions, saving abandoned strays and creating. You are inspiring me to find time again for me too
