The hair battle. Sometimes it’s a Labor of Love to get my daughter’s hair done every day. Anyone else find themselves dealing with tantrums over tangles? I’m excited to share a few kids hair tips today and a great line of products by SoCozy.com. You can find the products at Target.com (and in stores) and also earn rewards through their SoCozy Stylers program!
I am thrilled to find a product that is perfect for my 6-year-old daughter. She needs more conditioning than baby shampoo, but I don’t feel good about washing her hair with my products that have more chemicals and scents that may irritate her sensitive skin. Moms, no need to worry about what’s in the shampoo anymore! All SoCozy hair products are non-toxic and made without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, gluten, wheat or nuts. Total peace of mind! I found the SoCozy products in the hair care aisle at Target – the bright, fun colored bottles are easy to spot! It was fun to smell all the different products, too! If my kids would have been with me, I definitely would have them be my testers. You can also grab the SoCozy line at Target.com.
I chose 3 products I knew would be a good fit for my kids. I absolutely love the Cinch 3-in-1 Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash ! It makes bath time quick and easy – and also lets the kids get in on the cleaning! Oh, and my kids went nuts over how good it smelled. 🙂
Here are some of my favorite hair tips for kids:
1| All in one place
Before my daughter started Kindergarten this year, I got a small caddy for all her “hair stuff.” This has been a huge help on busy mornings! I wanted it to be portable because it seems I’m always doing her hair at different places: on my bed, in her bathroom, and even while she finishes up breakfast at the table!
2| Elastic Band storage
This is my favorite storage trick! I didn’t come up with it, but whoever did is a total genius. Use a carabiner – those cool little hooks used for climbing – to hold all your loose elastic hair bands! It’s easy enough to open that my daughter can grab the color she wants when we’re styling her hair.
3| Condition, condition, condition
I made sure to pick up the SoCozy conditioner for my daughter because she really needs the extra moisture. Her hair is straight and fine and the conditioner didn’t weigh it down at all! Conditioner is the main thing I rely on to tame the tangles, too.
On in-between hair washing days, it’s a MUST for her hair. The SoCozy detangler is light, effective and smells delicious! My daughter said, “It smells so good, I want to eat it!!” The spray nozzle on the bottle is amazing! It gives a nice even fine mist, not a concentrated stream that leaves only a few spots of hair wet. Here’s a little before and after of my daughter’s hair using the SoCozy products. See those snarly tangles? Her hair combed right through very easily after washing and looked so shiny and clean after being styled.
5| It’s all about the brush
This might be a no-brainer for some Moms, but I did have to teach my husband how to correctly de-tangle hair. Start at the bottom of the hair with small short strokes and slowly add more hair as you move up to the scalp. There are lots of great detangling brushes on the market that help too.
6| Night-time tangles
I never had really long hair growing up (and still love the short!) so I was sort of clueless on how to take care of my little girl’s long locks. One thing that helps with those nasty night-time tangles is to loosely braid her hair in one or two braids. It keeps things neat and untangled but isn’t tight enough to be uncomfortable or leave dents in her hair for the next morning.
