This post was created in partnership with Minute Maid as part of their #doingood campaign. All opinions and ideas are 100% mine.
This year for Father’s Day, we decided it would be fun to do something different and surprise dad with an early gift! I helped the kids assemble a special care package to take to my husband and surprise him at work.
A few weeks ago, we introduced the “Reverse Care Package” with a great idea to celebrate moms who are #doingood. Check it out here! Usually it’s the parents putting together care packages to support our kids. With the help of Minute Maid, we want to inspire others to reverse this tradition, and send a care package to a parent in their life who might need to be reassured they are doing a great job and celebrate all the good they put in to their families on a daily basis.
We filled a basket with my husband’s favorite snacks and a few fun activities they can do together, including his favorite beef jerky, yummy pistachios and Minute Maid Sparkling.
Instead of a card, I thought it would be fun to create a book for the kids to let their dad know how much they look up to him. The book is called, “Just Like You” and each page depicts a different role that their dad plays, and how the kids want to be just like him!
In my kids’ eyes, their dad is a true hero, and I want him to know how much they love him! This “Reverse Care Package” idea is a great way to remind my husband that he is #doingood.
The book can be printed on one sheet of paper and doesn’t require a color printer, so you can easily print several copies. I printed one out for each of my kids and let them color and design to their hearts’ content!
This is what the book looks like when it is all filled out:
There is a dotted line in the middle of the paper, and you need to cut on the line so the page can fold up correctly to make a mini book. Here is a diagram that shows how to fold the book:
All of the kids’ different versions turned out so cute!
We added the books to our basket and got ready to make our surprise delivery!
This was the best early Father’s Day gift! The kids loved surprising dad and letting him know he is #doingood with the books they created, along with his favorite snacks and Minute Maid Sparkling juice drinks. My husband loved it too, the smile on his face says it all.
It’s not too late to create a package for a special dad in your life. Help shine a light on all the great things parents do for their families by reminding a parent in your life they are #doingood with a Reverse Care Package and special #doingood delivery!
