Document Your Summer Memories with Project Life

July 5, 2013 4 Comments Holly & Nat

Summer is a great time to capture memories with family and friends. Vacations, family reunions, swimming, theme parks, and barbecues all provide plenty of great photo ops! Then….they sit on your computer, camera, or phone for the rest of the year, right? Not anymore! Today I’m sharing examples of how you can easily document your family’s summer!

Project Life is a simple solution to getting your photos off the computer and into an album. You only need a few things to get started: journaling cards (that come in a kit), Photo Pocket Pages, your photos, and a pen! With dozens of designs, you’re sure to find a Core Kit or Mini Kit you love! I got to play with the fun new Kraft edition Core Kit. Aren’t the designs great? This is such a versatile kit that could be used for boys or girls of any age – or family photos like I’m using.

Here are the photo sizes I use most often. I just went through my May photos in iPhoto and picked out the highlights! {There are photo pocket pages that hold several other sizes of photos/orientations also. For instructions on printing the square Instagram photos, check out THIS post.)

After getting the photos printed, it was easy to write down all the May highlights on a journaling card.  I added a little washi tape to this card, but the cards are so fabulous even without embellishment.

If you do like to add a little something, or are a more traditional scrapbooker with a hoard of supplies to use up, it’s so easy! I used some fun American Crafts stickers and embellishments on these cards. The coordinating cardstock packs are a great canvas to build on and they are sized to perfectly fit the 4×6 and 3×4 pockets.

My little girl wanted to play along with me! I’m definitely including these cards she made in her album.

Are you ready for the exciting news?
Project Life products, including the ones I used for this layout are now available IN STORES! Previously available only online, Project Life Core Kits, binders, Photo Pages and more are at these retailers:  Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Archivers, Craft Warehouse, Beverly’s Fabrics and hundreds of independent shops. You can also find Project Life online at Two Peas in a Bucket and Scrapbooks.com.

It’s easier than ever to document your life with this simple system. No more guilt! As you can see I didn’t make 10 layouts for the month -just the highlights. If I want to do more I can, but I like the simplicity of this format.

Beautiful layouts! I have several PL products but recently purchased the Mini Seasons and Holiday sets from my local Hobby Lobby.
