As bloggers, we get several opportunities each month to try products. When I found out we would be able to test the fun new Shape Tape™ from the makers of FrogTape® I was SERIOUSLY excited! I’ve seen it in stores and always wondered how well it worked. It took me a good 15 minutes just to decide which shape we wanted to try! Today I’m sharing my review of the the Scallop Shape Tape® and how I used it to transform a plain picture frame!
Shape Tape™ painters tape uses the same awesome Paint Block® technology that you’re use to with Frog Tape®. It’s a patented technology that gels and forms a barrier to prevent paint from bleeding. That means flawlessy clean lines! Seriously, I am no expert when it comes to painting…it sometimes intimidates me. But this tape makes it foolproof.
1) The backing on the adhesive has two parts – peel off one side and apply to the project or wall. This makes it much easier to line up and get the lines straight.
2) For this project I used acrylic craft paint and a foam brush, but for walls it is reccommended to use latex paint.
3) You can vary the placement of and width between strips to make different effects. It was fun to use a random pattern with the paint colors and I love how it turned out!
4) I did one or two coats and pulled back the tape as soon as I finished painting. Check out those lines! I shared a little video on Instagram of pulling off the tape (it’s my favorite part!)
This was such a fun painting project! I love how it turned out – and since we’re renting it is a fun way to add a splash of color when I can’t paint the walls. I chose the contrasting colors to go with this printable of my Bella’s favorite song. She sings it to us every day, and now I think of her every time I see the frame.
There are 2 other pre-cut shape choices – chevron and wave. Here are examples of ways to use Shape Tape™
