This post is sponsored by Command Brand, and I was given some of their party products to review. All opinions are 100% mine.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m a little obsessed with Black and White Halloween decor! It seems like every project I’ve done this year has come from this classic color combination. So I thought it would be fun to throw together a back and white party backdrop and give you some simple ways to decorate for your upcoming Halloween bash!
To create this look, I used items from the dollar store, black and white prints from the Caravan Shoppe, and a new line of party products from one of my favorite brands — Command! You guys know how I use the Command picture hanging strips for almost every project I’ve ever done on this blog? Haha, no exaggeration there friends. Well, I found out they had a bunch of new damage-free decorating products created just for parties, and I had to get my hands on some! (You can find all of these Command party products at Walmart in the party aisle.)
Here’s what they’ve created to make our lives as party-throwers a little easier:
The party line includes banner anchors, balloon bunchers, ceiling hooks, mini spring clips, and clear mounting strips. Pretty much everything you could ever need to decorate for a killer party! Here are my favorites…
First up, the balloon bunchers.
This idea is pure genius. I just had a birthday party for my son a few weeks ago and tried to create bunches of three balloons together, exactly like this! I didn’t have the balloon bunchers then and I was trying to attach all three of them to the wall at the same time with a huge roll of packing tape. It was not pretty! These cool bunchers from Command have a spot for each balloon, and once they are all secured, you just apply the Command strip and stick it to the wall. They worked awesome! I created a pattern across the wall to make a fun border at the top:
Next up, the banner anchors. In the past, I’ve always taped my banners on the wall or across my mantel for holiday decorating. Well, more times than not, the tape comes unstuck and one side of my banner falls down. Sound familiar? You won’t have that problem anymore with these little anchors!
They attach to the wall really easily with one Command strip and then you can wrap your string around the end of the anchor until it is the height you want it to be. I created this simple skeleton banner with black twine, skeletons found at the dollar store, and some black chipboard letters I clipped on to spell “EEK!” I love how it turned out!
One of the other items I know I will use all the time are the ceiling hooks. I have screwed those ugly brass C-hooks into my ceiling more times than I can count (for temporary holiday decor) and then my husband is wondering why we have all these little holes in the ceiling?? Ummm, no comment honey. I’m so glad I won’t have to worry about that anymore! I used three Command ceiling hooks to attach these lightweight spiderwebs (also found at the dollar store). I really like the dimension it adds to have things hanging from the ceiling for a party!
And finally, the easiest piece of party decor is my front door greeting:
I used the clear mounting strips to attach this 18 x 24″ engineering print to my front door. Super easy, and I won’t have to worry about any sticky tape residue on the door when I take it down after the party. Here are a few more shots of my favorite part of any party… the food!
Later this week, I will be sharing the tutorial for creating this fringed crepe paper backdrop:
It is probably my favorite part of the entire party scene. I did the entire wall with four packages of crepe paper streamers from the dollar store!
