Beauty and the Beast Lip Gloss Party Favor

March 3, 2017 Leave a Comment Holly & Nat

Hey guys! Do you know what’s happening two weeks from today? My very favorite Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast, is hitting the big screen as a live action film and I’ve been looking forward to seeing it for months! To celebrate, we’re joining some of our favorite bloggers and sharing a Beauty and the Beast project inspired by the movie. We’re also giving one lucky reader a chance to take their family to watch the movie with a $100 Fandango gift card! After you check out our lip gloss party favor idea, make sure to enter the giveaway and head over to see all of their amazing projects!

I’ve thrown my share of princess parties, including a Sleeping Beauty Slumber Party, Frozen Party, and Cinderella Ball. So, I’m guessing it’s in my future to throw a Beauty and the Beast bash, and I thought I’d get a head start on some simple party ideas. This lip gloss party favor is easy & cheap, and what little girl doesn’t love a shimmery lip gloss??

The best thing about this lip gloss is that it only uses 2 ingredients! Here’s what you’ll need: (affiliate links included below)

To make the lip gloss, you will use pure Coconut Oil and an edible luster dust (found in the baking supply aisle at your craft store or online.) The shimmery dust comes in lots of colors, but I chose gold to go with Belle’s gown.

For the packaging, I found these cute 18 mm resin roses at Hobby Lobby (here are some similar ones,) and a sheet of gold envelope seals that are a perfect size for the lip gloss containers. I got the containers on Amazon but you should be able to find something similar at Michaels or Hobby Lobby in the jewelry making aisle.

My little princess was eager to help me with this project… here’s the three easy steps!

1. Scoop about 2 TBSP of coconut oil (soild form) into a microwave safe dish. Soften in the microwave for 30 seconds or less. You want it to soften enough to be able to mix it with a spoon, but not to it’s oil form.

2. Add desired amount of luster dust to the mixture and stir until smooth.

3. Spoon the mixture into your lip gloss container and fill to the top.

That’s it! Now it’s time to add the embellishments.

Place a gold envelope seal sticker on the lid, and then attach a rose to the top with a bead of hot glue.

So cute! And totally Belle-esque!

You should be able to make a big batch of lip gloss and 6 adorable party favors for less than $15. It comes out to about $2 per gloss. For a more grown-up version, add sugar to the mixture for a natural homemade lip scrub! These make fun birthday gifts too!

Nat and I are hoping to take a trip to Disneyland with our families this fall, and we can’t wait to check out the Red Rose Tavern, also inspired by Beauty and the Beast. If you are obsessed as we are, you have to see all of these amazing ideas from our friends:
