$2 Gift Idea for Boys + Printable Tag

December 10, 2012 28 Comments Holly & Nat

Are you done with your Christmas shopping yet? I’m not! This week we will be sharing some simple, inexpensive and last-minute gift ideas on the blog.  It seems like there’s always another person I forgot to buy a gift for – teachers, neighbors, and what about that cute little 4 year old boy that lives next door?
Stocking Gift idea for boys
Today is all about the boys (because they’re harder to buy/make gifts for, I think…)  This 2 dollar gift is inspired by those awesome masking tape roads we’ve all seen on Pinterest. My kids love to do this on bad-weather days when we can’t play outside.
It’s cheap and it will make the recipient’s MOM really happy, too!
What you need for this easy and inexpensive gift:

  •  a roll of masking tape (dollar store)
  • one or two new cars, Hot Wheels, etc. (These cute wooden cars were at Dollar Tree! Score!)
  • printable tag found here

Aren’t these little wooden cars I found so cute? Dollar Tree also had an ambulance, police car, school bus and taxi version! My daughter can’t wait to give her best friend the ambulance because his Daddy works on the Ambulance where we live!

Coming Wednesday: a simple and inexpensive gift idea for girlfriends and neighbors!

Love this! You are so right about little boys being hard to create gifts for. I suggested the masking tape road idea to one of my coworkers and she loved it — this would be perfect to toss in with her Christmas gift this year. Thanks for sharing!

I am as well. I’m hoping it’s a temporary issue!! I have everything ready to go for a preschool class. 🙂

YES! Boys ARE harder to buy for (the bigger ones too). Love this idea (although the cheapo stores here like Hot Dollar etc. are quite a bit more expensive then they are in the US it seems…). Will have to keep my eyes open!

These little wooden cars are also in the dollar spot at my Target right now. Cute! I didn’t have any trouble opening the printable using firefox–maybe try a different browser?

SO bummed – my Dollar Tree or Target didn’t have anything like this during that time… just a bunch of plastic junk. :/ So cute though, pinning this for next year!
