Mmm-hmm. Does this idea look familiar? Well since I'm the younger sister, I get to copy Holly, right? And I pretty much do all the time. It's like, part of my job description or something.
These JOY letters were one of my favorite projects she did last year, so I snatched up a bunch of mini Christmas ornaments to make my own LOVE letters!
I got the mini ornaments after Christmas for $1.25 for each box at JoAnn.
(I used 4 boxes with TONS left over for another project!)
Here's the BEST part! With just 5 letters you can get TWO decorations for different holidays out of this DIY - the letters L, N, O, E, V spell both LOVE and NOEL! Woo-hoo. It's never to early to think about Christmas ;)
I used both the shiny and glittered mini ball ornaments for the "lights" of the marquee!
For the full tutorial on how to transform these cardboard letters, make sure to see Holly's tips HERE!
Another project I (ahem) copied were THESE darling tissue tassels! I used Holly's tutorial but started with a half sheet of tissue paper instead of a full sheet to make them a little smaller. Yeah, that gold polka dot tissue paper makes me pretty darn happy - another after-Christmas find!
I am totally loving these letters! They're big enough of a statement piece that I just added the banner to my little shelf/wannabe mantel and am done decorating for Valentine's Day! (I'm sure they'll stay awhile longer than that...)
What fun words could you spell with these easy Faux Marquee Letters? I know I'll be making a hot pink monogram B for a special little girl's birthday coming up! Have a great weekend, everyone!
