Blogiversary Week: Chevron Dresser Update

I'm excited to share a favorite product of mine with you guys today-- the new patterned vinyl designs available from Uppercase Living. I fell in love with Uppercase Living's products more than six years ago, and I have enjoyed using their vinyl designs and photo prints in my home for several years! When Tara {my UL Demonstrator and super cute cousin} offered to let me review their brand new Patterns, I knew exactly what I wanted to do... update my boys' dresser:

The last project in my boys' bedroom is finally complete! They had an out-of-the-box dresser from Target that was really plain and boring. Using two sheets of the Chevron Pattern vinyl {in Bright White} from Uppercase Living, I transformed it into a stand out piece! The best part, no paint or mess involved :) I finished the entire project in less than 30 minutes.

Here's what I did...

Getting Organized : DIY Toddler Command Center

I have loved seeing all the great family "command centers" out there in blogland this fall. Someday I'll make a fabulous one of my own. But I'm starting small. Instead of for our whole family, I wanted to create a command center  for my preschooler. It was simple, easy and cheap - I spent less than $20 on the whole project! Here's how I made a little corner of organization in my 3 year-old's world.

Kids Crafts with NO prep! {Kiwi Crate Review and chance to WIN!}

During our first year of blogging we have been lucky enough to sample and review various products. We try to choose things that we feel passionate about and that fit the style of our blog and readers. I am beyond excited to tell you today about a company called Kiwi Crate! In a nutshell, it's a cute little green box (that comes right to your door) full of all the supplies, instructions and tools you need to do original and educational craft projects with your kids. That's right, NO preparation on your part. No more searching several different craft and art supply stores to find all the components for your latest Pinterest find! I seriously think this idea is brilliant.

Kiwi Crate is giving away a FULL-YEAR subscription (12 crates!)
All you need is a valid e-mail address to enter.

The box we had the chance to sample was all about bugs. It is SO cute!

Make-A-Face Pumpkin Halloween Party Favors

Halloween is a great time for parties! Whether it's for kids or adults, these Make-A-Face Pumpkin Bottles are an easy idea for your next party's decor. Using a dry-erase marker makes them kid-friendly and they double as fun Halloween party favors, too!

We shared this idea over at the fantastic Spooktacular September series a few weeks ago. We love eighteen25 and it's been so fun to see new Halloween ideas each day.

We have kids, and they love anything that involves markers and sugar... haha! These party drinks will be a hit!

DIY American Flag Boots

Yesterday as I read some of your posts about 9/11, I started thinking about how we really came together as a nation, united, that day. We were able to put our differences, politics, and judgements aside to mourn together, and to lift one another. To hold on to what was {and still is} so important to all of us... our freedom. We are so blessed to live in this country, and I am grateful every day for the men and women {my brothers among them} who are serving in the military to protect those freedoms that I hold sacred.  I shared this tutorial over at Infarrantly Creative this summer, and I thought it would be fitting to post it here this week.

When I first saw these Americana boots, I fell in love with them. Unfortunately, a $650 price tag is just a little out of my reach. The DIY-er in me said, "Hey, you could make those!" For less than $60, I created my own version of this patriotic footwear with a flair!

Here's a picture of my inspiration boots:

Yarn Pumpkin

I spent the weekend doing some fall decorating.... how about you guys? This early in the season, I like to create small vignettes around my home with little touches of autumn. I love using textiles in my fall decor, and wanted use some of this yummy orange yarn to create a pumpkin.

It looks cozy and kind of rustic... I really like how it turned out! And I am going to show you exactly how I made it :)

Halloween Door Decor

With the temperatures dropping {not to mention the leaves}, it can only mean one thing... time to decorate my front door for Fall! I have seen a lot of Halloween wreaths out there, but I wanted to do something a little different this year. For my door decoration, I decided to create a bewitching display with one of my painted chalkboard platters.

Color Block Canvas {Easy Kids' Art}

I shared this project over at Positively Splendid last month, and thought you guys would like to see it. I'm making a list of all my spray paint projects to finish this month {before it gets too cold}... here is an easy one to add to the list!

I love creating simple art pieces that add a personal touch to the spaces in our home. I have two boys, 5 and 7, who always want to be "helpers" in my DIY adventures, especially anything involving paint :) I usually keep my spray paint off limits, but for this project, I let them try it out {closely supervised!} It was a WIN for both of us... the kids got to experiment with painters tape and spray paint, and I got to indulge my recent obsession with Color Blocking!

Here's how we did it: {so simple-- the kids did it all!}
