Ever since I made that cute paper medallion for my Uncle Sam hat a few weeks ago, I've been dying to make more for a 4th of July wreath. I already had some red-and-white polka dot material on hand, so this week I just busted it out.
This was my first time trying the pool noodle method for creating a wreath form. It was super easy {and cheap!} I'll definitely be doing more of these in the future.
1. Trim your pool noodle to make it fit the final size for your wreath {I cut about 6 inches off mine}
2. Using duct tape, tape the ends of the noodle together to create a circle
3. Start wrapping you fabric strips around the noodle and secure with hot glue {you'll want to try to glue fabric to fabric so you don't melt the plastic!}
I used the same method for covering this wreath as I did with my Spring Butterfly Wreath.
Once my wreath form was completely wrapped in fabric, I started adding red and blue paper medallions, embellished with a few of our freedom printable tags.
One of my favorite things turned out to be a little ribbon flower I made out of red-white-and-blue striped ribbon. I gathered it up and glued it in the center, it looks like a mini patriotic bunting!

I am excited to have this done and my chalkboard updated for the summer. I think I'll keep this up even after the 4th... it's perfect for the Olympics too!

Do you guys have any fun plans for the 4th next week? We'll be going to our local fireworks show {rated one of the top 10 in the country!} for the first time since we moved here two years ago.
