ABC Easter Eggs {Matching Game}

We shared this idea at Aimee's Easter Egg Hunt last week, and thought it was about time to show it to you guys too. {Especially since Easter is only 1 week away...} If you didn't catch the entire series, you must go check out all the great ideas for decorating eggs!

I knew right away I wanted to do something that didn't involve egg dye...less messy! I saw this ABC egg idea on Pinterest, and added my own little spin to it: magnetic letters. Your little ones will have fun matching up the letters to the right egg and hiding them inside. The best part - It all cost less than 5 dollars and took about 10 minutes to put together!

You'll need:
- plastic eggs {the standard size} in any colors
- letter stickers {mine are from Wal-Mart - $1}
- magnetic letters {Wal-Mart - $1.50}
- a Gallon size Ziploc bag

It's pretty simple to put this together! I just picked a letter out of the pile, put it inside a plastic egg, and stuck the matching letter sticker on the top half of the egg. You could also do upper/lower case matching.  Get your kids in on the fun! My 3 year old had a blast helping me make these. When you're done, store all the eggs in a gallon Ziploc and you're set! A fun {& educational} little activity to pull out when you're out of ideas. {Which for me, seems to be all the time!}

It seems like we've had a week of guest posts :) Holly and I have been enjoying Spring Break and spending quality time with our kiddos! Next week we'll be back with some new projects and an announcement {for all the SNAP-goers!}
20 days and counting...

Butterfly {Paint Chip} Wreath

Earlier this week, I shared this Butterfly {Paint Chip} Wreath over at Craftionary....

Now I get to share it with you guys, and show you a couple of inspirations for my wreath. I knew I wanted to incorporate butterflies, {what could be more Springy??} and I since my Valentine's chalkboard vignette included paint chips, I thought it would be fun to try it again :)

I loved this moss butterfly wreath by a Pumpkin and a Princess, but honestly, I had just finished a different moss project and I didn't want to deal with the mess of little green flecks all over my house again! So, I turned to one of my very favorite wreath-makers {Jen at TT&J} for inspiration.... I adored this chevron fabric wreath she made for Halloween:

I decided to go with some spring green, polka dot fabric {instead of the messy moss!} and it was SO easy! Here's what you'll need:
  • 1/4 yard of fabric
  • paint chips in various colors
  • wreath form
  • butterfly die-cut/paper punch
  • hot glue

{1} Gather all your materials {2} Tear approx. 2" strips of fabric (I used 4 strips) {3} Wrap strips around your wreath form, securing with hot glue {4} Die cut (or punch) butterflies out of your paint chips {5} Fold butterflies in half down the center, creating a 3-D effect  {6} Glue the butterflies to your wreath, applying the glue only in the center, on the fold. Layer them to your desired effect. You want it to look like they just landed on your wreath!

Here is my completed "Paint Chip" Wreath:

I decided to display my new wreath on the huge Magnetic Chalkboard {upcycled from an old painting} in my dining room. I love how it adds a pop of color and whimsy to the space!

I found the perfect quote by Terri Guillemets:
I just love how it looks with my new wreath!

Hope you enjoyed my take on butterflies, paint chips and Spring! Have a great weekend!
