In about 15 minutes, I turned that too-big skirt into a fabulous fall accessory:

I simply cut off the waistband of the skirt {since it was gathered, that let out all the fabric and gave me a nice even piece.} It was already sewn together in a big loop so I just trimmed it a little to make it the width I wanted for my scarf:
Then I just sewed up the raw edge of the fabric, and voila! I have a brand new scarf in one of my favorite colors :)
