I'm excited to share a favorite product of mine with you guys today-- the new patterned vinyl designs available from Uppercase Living. I fell in love with Uppercase Living's products more than six years ago, and I have enjoyed using their vinyl designs and photo prints in my home for several years! When Tara {my UL Demonstrator and super cute cousin} offered to let me review their brand new Patterns, I knew exactly what I wanted to do... update my boys' dresser:
The last project in my boys' bedroom is finally complete! They had an out-of-the-box dresser from Target that was really plain and boring. Using two sheets of the Chevron Pattern vinyl {in Bright White} from Uppercase Living, I transformed it into a stand out piece! The best part, no paint or mess involved :) I finished the entire project in less than 30 minutes.
Here's what I did...
{Click over for the tutorial and to enter the giveaway!}
The entire dresser was completed with two sheets of vinyl {20"x20" each}, and I even had some left over. I'm guessing a lot of you have applied vinyl before, so I will just tell you the basics of what I did to make sure the finished pattern matched up and looked good on all the drawers.
1. First, I measured the width of the drawers-- they were 30" which was perfect! I used exactly one and a half sheets to complete the pattern width for each drawer.
2. I drew a line down the middle of my second sheet and cut it in half. {This gave me the 10" sections I needed to complete the pattern.}
3. I applied my first section of vinyl, {20" wide by 2 rows of chevron}, on the left side of the drawer.
4. Then I removed the backing paper, and now I was able to match up my second section {10" wide} and continue the pattern seamlessly.
5. I used the point of the chevron to match the two sections together. It was so simple!
I repeated the process for all 4 drawers, and this is how it looks completed:
It's graphic, modern, and the colors are timeless so I will be able to reuse it in another space when we need to upgrade the boys to something larger. The cool thing about the Patterns from Uppercase Living, is that you can buy them in any size sheet, from 6" to 20", and they have all my favorite designs {hello Houndstooth and Herringbone!}
Here is a picture of Tara's piano that she just refinished, with the quatrefoil design on the top and piano bench. I love it!!
