Have you seen these great StarMallows in stores yet? They are HUGE, star-shaped and Red, White & Blue! They are perfect for making an easy and festive treat for the 4th! {I found these at Wal-Mart for about $2.50 a bag}
I grabbed anything I could find that would make these cute little mallows shine: Washi tape and paper straws from Pick Your Plum and these cute sprinkles from my local grocery store.
{1} While your chocolate is melting, try to find some good-shaped stars for dipping.
{2} Try not to hurt anyone's feelings by eating some of the not-so-good ones.
{3} Skewer with a toothpick and cover the mallow with chocolate. I found it was easier to use a spoon and drizzle the chocolate all over until the whole thing was covered. Then tap off the excess so you can see that cute star shape again!
{4} Lay on wax paper (only one side needs to be pretty) and decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
Once they are all set, pull out the toothpick and skewer the mallows with a cute paper straw or bamboo skewer! I glammed mine up with a little (you guessed it) Washi! {Like I did on these Washi Fairy Wands}These would look so cute on your table at a 4th of July BBQ!
Or put some in a mason jar for an easy neighbor gift!
Any way you make 'em, they are seriously DELICIOUS! I had a blast making them (& a huge mess) with my daughter! Hope you have fun, too!

love these!!!
